Notes To Myself marks the first series of paintings in which I started exploring the boundaries of my obsessive perfectionism. It started with gradually changing the appearance of a fixed color combination in a triangle pattern. By painting layer upon layer and intuitively adjusting the pattern, each added layer gave rise to the intensity of the colours and created new levels of depth. In Notes To Myself #4 there is a moment in which I added a red color on purpose, even though I knew that I had to change the whole painting again. These moments of decisions and doubts in the painting process are fundamental to create that interaction between my order and chaos. Adding those under-layers is similar to the glazing technique from the Renaissance, however I use it to confront myself instead of complementing the colours.
