Glenfiddich: Experimental Series
Wallpaper & fabric
350 x 350 x 250 cm
For the introduction of Glenfiddich and their newest Whisky flavours in Amsterdam, I was commissioned to create an experimental room as part of a tasting tour. The audience could experience the new ‘Experimental Series’ in a way tasting has never been done before. Both new Whisky flavours were created by bending the rules of traditional Whisky making. To complete this experience I created a pattern to cover the try-out room from top to bottom, with the digitized canvas of painting If You Can’t Be Good, Be Weird #1.
My patterns are the result of a search for tension in the balance between controlled perfection and finding ways to oppose it. With the transformation of this painting into a wallpaper and fabric, I can also break with the classical painting artistry and bring my patterns on a different level to my audience.
